Hello!

This is the voice of Freudstein! We are a Brighton band, we are signed to Wasp Factory records, and we are playing a gig on 27th May for the Brighton festival.

All the details are www.iwasateenagerobot.co.uk and our web site is www.freudstein.co.uk

We use computers, synths, guitar, vocals, bass and even harmonica on some tracks... most tracks are tinged with a horror/heavy vibe, some fantasy horror and some real life (ie the current political state).

Check us out people of A3... please tell me what you think via our web site contact section :)

Many questions in the guestbook about Mood Lounge Volume 2.
We now have at least enough great tracks for release, but are holding back so we can release at the same time our online downloads shop - codename:a3Tunes. Work behind the scenes is nearing completion, when we intend to release the cd, and also its "digital sister".
If you like the cd, you can download more by the artists direct to your iPod; if you like the downloads, you can order a copy of the cd. The online shop will allow us to release so much more music. And as always at A3, the artists retain their rights, and the option to walk away.

Hello
As has been posted on A3s homepage (thanks Mike) www.soundscalpel.com has been launched - a new internet based sound library - licensing and distributing sound effects and music production samples to film, television, radio, multi-media and corporate production companies and music producers, artists and musicians.
We are looking to co-publish both sfx and samples (beat loops, multi-samples, one shots etc) on the site with excellent commission rates.
We have recently supplied sounds for: Lloyds TSB (UK) Jack Links (Beef Jerky Manufacturers for Worldwide TV commercials) CKUK (sfx for various TV commercials) and GM-Voices (US – corporate telephone voice recognition systems) as well as samples for many producers and artists.
If you have sfx and/or samples you want to sell to such companies via our website or can create them then get in touch at sounds@soundscalpel.com

Thanks

I have just heard back from Gordon Knott and he is interested. He still freelances for DJ magazine and although no longer reviews for them, can point us in the right direction for exposure which is good, as he has all the right contacts.

Also, he is working with youths in Brighton and has suggested we could possibly involve them some how. Getting as many people involved, I think, is a great idea. What do other think?

I will get back to him and would like to arrange an event, in Brighton to showcase an involve others on all genres of the label.

Reply if you are interested!!

Thankyou to everyone who turned up to the Stemcell meeting yesterday. Loubna was especially interested in anyone that has any hip hop, either instrumentals or full songs. Remember, Stemcell is gonna be drum and bass and hip hop, we're thinking about collectives, live acts and DJs from both genres. Also, i heard some real dark breaks last night (cheers Georgie) , that would be good too. Just steer away from garage and house. These are styles that need to be explored before anything can be released. Also, a sister site may well be on the cards so look out for the Stemcell webpage and mailing list. For now, A3 is our home.

A3 night review:

The last A3 night at the Polar Central was great.
Ed and Phil opened the night with a very orgional, mellow feel, bringing the set up to date with the latest technoclogy playing sounds from a lap top and using a high tech motion detected orb.

Brincklow Counsell played an impressive ambient set,and although only played a few songs were well recived.

Having seen Porch before i was hoping for more new material, but even though there was only one new song it was well recived and as high quality as the rest of the set.
The band, as always, lifted the audience after the previous acts, and are spot on for the headlining band.
Cant wait for the next A3 night!!

My name is Yoshi, and I'm an MC and producer from Brighton.

I've just released my first LP (which you can check here ) and I saw your amazing collection at Borders- where my album now sits proudly next to yours. I'm actually hoping to collaborate with Rahma Ali now, because I'm loving her style and work on my next batch of music is already underway- I never stop creating to be honest.

However I just wanted to drop you a line to see if it would be possible to get any of my downtempo style eclectic instrumental madness/ or some of my lyrical tracks onto your next compilation? I'd gladly send you a demo that shows my all around abilities and I'm confident that you'll be impressed by it.

Reading your website is truly inspiring, I'm glad Brighton has people like you organising things and I hope I can get involved in the project somehow,

peace
Yoshi.
