Women in Music Industry Event this Tuesday in London MusicLeader
London and CM present an event for women interested in roles in the
music industry. Featuring guest speakers, information stalls and a
panel discussion, this event will provide you with the information you
need.
Panel discussion
Why are women under-represented in some roles in the music industry?
What are these roles and how can women become better represented? This
panel discussion will explore some of the issues. Confirmed speakers
include Helen Searle, industry lawyer, Janine Irons MBE, jazz artist
manager, executive producer and director of Tomorrow's Warriors and Jo
Charrington, Head of A&R (Artists and Repertoire) at Epic Records.
Just the Job seminars
Ever wondered how other women working in the industry got to where they
are now? Our Just the Job seminars give you the opportunity to hear
from four women each working in a specific area of the music industry.
Featured jobs include PR (public relations), music journalism, artist
management and live sound.
Information stalls
There will also be the chance to pick up information about courses,
organisations and services relevant to those starting out in the
industry.
Live music
This event will feature a live acoustic set from Katy Samwell.
From 10.00am-3.00pm on Tuesday 22 April at the Brady Arts Centre London.
